Red, Car, Vehicle, Glossy, Parking, Honda, StoreNo matter which trim level you buy, the 2017 Honda Odyssey minivan has plenty to offer families of all sizes. The interior space has plenty of room for any kind of outing, but you can get all kinds of excellent features when you buy one of the top trims like the EX-L.

Power

The engine on a 2017 Odyssey is a 3.5-liter V6, and it delivers 248 horsepower and 250 pound-feet of torque. This gives the van a towing capacity of 3,500 pounds, which is enough for most small and mid-size camper trailers. The modern design uses direct fuel injection to make the engine as potent and efficient as possible, and the engine block uses a tough aluminum alloy to cut the weight as much as possible.

Interior Volume

Thanks to the wide sliding doors and the 172.6 cubic-foot passenger volume, the 2017 Honda Odyssey has plenty of space for passengers, no matter how big or small they are. All three rows have more than 40 inches of leg room and 60 inches of shoulder room. Even with all three rows occupied, the minivan has 38.4 cubic feet for luggage and cargo. With the second and third rows out of the way, that number jumps to 148.5 cubic feet, which is enough to move furniture and home building materials.

EX-L Features

The Odyssey EX-L trim offers more than the LX, EX, and SE trims, but less than the Touring and Touring Elite. As one of the top trims, the EX-L has a long list of features, including leather front and second-row seats, heated front seats, a power tailgate, and a moonroof.

You also get features that are standard on other trims, like Honda LaneWatch, power sliding doors, and automatic headlights. It even has a smart entry system that unlocks the doors automatically when you approach with the key fob in your pocket, and the push-button start means you can drive the Odyssey EX-L without even using your key.

EX-L Options

One thing that sets the EX-L trim apart from all the other Odyssey models is the list of packages you can add. The EX-L doesn’t come standard with Honda’s satellite-linked navigation system, but you can add it as part of a package. The Honda DVD Rear Seat Entertainment System is also available, though it’s standard on both the SE and Touring models. This helps the EX-L trim keep its costs down, and it means the trim appeals to car buyers who don’t go on enough long road trips to buy a minivan with an entertainment system.

Whether you’re a family that likes to go on long trips every year or you need the space of a minivan for sports equipment and bringing half a sports team to a nearby away game, the 2017 Odyssey EX-L takes all the features that make the Odyssey a great minivan and adds a list of excellent features and a large package list that lets you decide just what kind of van you want to buy.
