Whether you like a thick crust, a thin crust, or somewhere in between, Charlotte has plenty of places where you can go to get a good pizza. Check out some of these places the next time you have a craving.

Pizzeria Omaggio

Pizzeria Omaggio on Metropolitan Avenue is one of the newer pizza places in the area. It offers a great selection of pizzas, ranging from the classic pepperoni to artisan pizzas with unusual topping combinations. The Abruzzo pizza is a must for those who love garlic and meatballs, and the garlic knots are delicious. You can also build your own pizza with your favorite toppings, including eggplant, zucchini, and ricotta cheese. Pizzeria Omaggio is open for lunch and dinner, and it stays open until 9 p.m. every day except Friday and Saturday, when it stays open until 10 p.m.

Benny Pennello’s

This pizza place on North Davidson Street offers huge slices of pizza large enough to cover two paper plates, and you can get one of these enormous slices for just $4. It offers two specials every month along with the basic toppings, and chefs make the pizza right in front of you. On nice days, you can sit outside at the picnic table while you enjoy your pizza. If you need to feed a crowd, Benny Pennello’s has a 30-inch pizza you can order that is sure to be enough to feed everyone. If you’re looking for a late-night snack, it stays open until 3 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, 2 a.m. on Thursdays, and midnight the rest of the week.

Libretto’s Pizzeria

You’ll find Libretto’s Pizzeria in several Charlotte locations, including a pizza truck. Make sure to try the Pinkman special, a pizza named after a security guard at one of the local music venues. This comes with ricotta, ground beef, mushrooms, roasted garlic, and some truffle oil. Choose from a variety of crusts, including Sicilian, Brooklyn, and grandma’s crust, which is a square thin crust. If you’re in the mood for something other than pizza, it also has soups and salads, wings, and even fried calamari.

500 Degrees New York Style Pizzeria

At 500 Degrees New York Style Pizzeria, you can get authentic New York style pizza with a thin crispy crust and just the right amount of sauce. It offers a lunch special featuring two slices of cheese pizza along with a drink for less than $5. You can also get a Sicilian pizza with a thick crust loaded up with the toppings of your choice. 500 Degrees also has wings and calzones, and it offers delivery if you’d rather stay at home.

There are many places in the Charlotte area where you can get a great slice of pizza. Head into town to sit down and enjoy the atmosphere of a local pizza place, or get it to go if you’d rather relax at home.
