Honda, Logo, CarCar buyers looking for spacious and affordable cars should seriously consider the Honda Fit. The 2017 model includes a spacious design that many underestimate when looking at it from the outside. This hatchback, however, has a large backseat, making it a great option for families that provides more legroom than many mid-size sedans. If you’re considering a 2017 Honda Fit, here are some features of the base model that make it a great choice.

Amazing Fuel Mileage

For a car that isn’t a hybrid, and doesn’t have the higher hybrid price tag to go along with it, the Honda Fit gets great gas mileage. That means that this is a great commuter car and will save you money at the pump. Plus you won’t have to go to the gas station as often or plug in your car every night.

Safety Features

There are a lot of safety features included on the Honda Fit, even on the base model. This includes Vehicle Stability Assist with Traction Control. This system helps keep the car stable as it goes around corners, even on slippery roads. Another big one is the Brake Assist system, which helps provide great braking force when the driver presses the brake pedal firmly, so you can stop more quickly if there’s an emergency.

Other active safety features include an anti-lock braking system, electronic brake distribution, tire pressure monitoring system, and daytime running lights. Passive safety features include a lot of airbags along with three-point seat belts, LATCH, and child-proof rear door locks. In fact, the Fit received a “good” rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety in all areas reviewed.

Technology

What good is a new car if it doesn’t work with your phone and have great technology features? There’s no need to worry when it comes to the Honda Fit. Even the base model has Bluetooth HandsFreeLink, which connects your phone with the car’s system, so you can perform phone-related activities and keep both hands on the wheel. Text your spouse, call your brother,or turn on music without reaching for your phone.

In the center console is a 5-inch color LCD screen where you can access all the system’s menu and stream audio through Bluetooth.

Second-Row Magic Seat

If you haven’t heard about the magic second row seat in the Honda Fit, you’re in for a treat. It’s so versatile. When you put the seats down to really utilize the space in the back, the seats don’t just fold forward. They fold enough that the seats and the back are completely level with each other.

But that’s not all. You can fold the front passenger seat down to get a longer area, fold just the front passenger seat down so you can stretch your legs, or fold just the back seat cushions up to create a taller area between the two rows.

With so many features, despite the low starting price, it’s easy to see why so many drivers are choosing the Honda Fit.
