Attend Christmas at the Library

You’ll definitely want to attend Christmas at the Library. Open through December 23, this event offers activities for the whole family. With a live nativity scene, horse-drawn carriage rides through beautiful light displays, and story time for kids, Christmas at the Library is an annual event that locals love. You can stop by Monday through Thursday between 9:30 A.M. and 9 P.M., as well as Fridays and Saturdays between 9:30 A.M. to 10 P.M. Admission and parking are free, but some activities cost extra. New this year is the option to have Christmas dinner when you attend between Thursday and Saturday. This is an affordable holiday-themed event you don’t want to miss.

Witness the Spectacular Light Show at the Charlotte Motor Speedway

You’ve never seen a light show like the one at Speedway Christmas. It’s one of the largest in the region. You start out by driving through various displays along the racetrack, but the fun doesn’t end there. After you exit your vehicle, you’ll find loads of fun activities for you and the kids at the Speedway Christmas Village. It features live actors, a petting zoo, Santa’s Workshop, and even an ice skating rink. Be sure to catch one of the movie nights held on Fridays and Saturdays featuring your favorite holiday classics. The gates are open between 6 P.M. and 10 P.M., and the cost of admission is $25 per car. You can book your tickets online, and the last day of operation for the season is December 27.

Your ride includes a narrator’s reading of “Train to Christmas Town” to get you in the holiday spirit, as well as hot cocoa, delicious cookies, and surprise guest characters from the story and even Santa himself.
