Pumpkin, Halloween, Face, AutumnWhether you’re looking for a family friendly pumpkin patch or corn maze, or for something more frightening like a haunted house this Halloween, there is something for you in the Charlotte, NC area.

Blakeney Boo! Bash

Held at the Blakeney Crossing, a shopping and entertainment venue in South Charlotte, the Boo! Bash is fun for all ages. It will be held on October 21 and includes plenty of fall-themed activities for kids, such as painting pumpkins and creating sand art and wax hands. You can also take advantage of the moon bounce, the inflatable slide, and the hay rides that will be given in a horse-drawn carriage. A DJ will spin favorite tunes, making this a favorite event for families around Halloween.

Scarrigan Farms

The 170-acre Carrigan Farm transforms into a haunted and frightening attraction every October. It’s located in Mooresville, which is about 30 miles from Charlotte. It includes an outdoor walking trail with multiple scare zones along the way, each including its own version of terror. You’ll see bloodthirsty clowns, a tragic bus, a moonlit corn maze, a butcher shop, and even a 3-D experience. It’s much too scary for younger children, so only those ages 12 and up are allowed. Admission is $25 per person, and it opens on September 30.

Halloween Fun Run

If frights aren’t your thing but you want to get in the spirit, sign up for the Halloween Fun Run. It’s hosted annually by Stallings Elementary and includes a costume contest and plenty of Halloween treats for the family. It’s a one-mile course, so even younger kids may participate. If a mile is still too long for your little ones, feel free to push them in a stroller. You don’t even have to run; walking and skipping are encouraged as well.

The Fright Factory at NC Music Factory

Starting on September 30, the NC Music Factory becomes The Fright Factory. It is open on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings through the end of the month. The venue will host a giant bash on October 29.  The haunted house includes several themed rooms: Slaughterhouse, Dobson Manor, Monster Midway, and The Darkness. You can also take a ride in a coffin or hearse. Admission to the haunted house is $13, although the party on October 29 may be slightly more expensive because it includes live music and other entertainment.

Boo’s and Booze Halloween Party

If you’re over 21, you can enjoy eerie cocktails and creepy, tasty treats at the 2nd Annual Boo’s and Booze Halloween Party. This bash happens on a boat on Whisky River in Charlotte, and admission includes four treat samples and one cocktail. You can buy the specialty cocktails throughout the evening at discounted prices. Don’t forget to come decked out in your costume for the contest. Cash prizes are available for the winners of Most Creative and Crowd Favorite costumes.

No matter what type of Halloween-themed fun you are seeking, you can easily find an attraction or event in the Charlotte area this year.
